October 6, 2026, Monthly Meeting

On Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., we’ll be having our monthly meeting featuring…

BMC Live: The Nova Scotia Field Trip Report
with Dana Krueger

About the presenter…

Dana Krueger is a sometimes zeolite collector, longtime BMC member, and past BMC President who has previously given talks on such topics as the minerals of the Cheapside Quarry.

The details…

The next BMC monthly meeting on Tuesday, October 6, will be a Nova Scotia field trip extravaganza! The night will feature a talk by Dana Krueger. Not getting too technical, his talk will be a travelogue of the field trip the club organized in June of this year, with plenty of photos.

Around the Bay of Funday in Nova Scotia, Canada, famous localities such as Partridge Island, Wasson Bluff, Cape d’Or, and others are the source of many zeolite minerals, metal ores, amethyst, and other minerals. A group of lucky club members visited this mineral collectors’ playground from June 18-22 and have stories to tell and specimens to show. Along with Dana’s talk, anyone who participated in the trip is encouraged to bring in specimens they collected to be displayed at the front of the room during the meeting.

But wait, there’s more! This week marks the club’s 90th anniversary, and what does that mean? Well cake of course! Help us ring in the club’s 90th year and get a taste of the club’s sweet future to come.

Dana’s talk will be preceded by socializing and followed by our traditional mineral specimen raffle. Club members should check their email for details about how to access the free parking available.

We hope to see you there!
