About the presenters…
All of the presenters at the Show-and-Tell meeting are BMC members. Anyone who has one or more specimens to talk about can get on the roster and will have 5 or 10 minutes, depending on demand, to show what they’ve found, purchased, traded, or otherwise acquired. Advance signups with our president are preferred, but last minute additions at the meeting are fine too. Join us and bask in your five minutes of fame!
The details…
September is our traditional Show-and-Tell night, where we celebrate recent mineral finds and acquisitions that we’d like to share with other members. We strongly encourage any members who have made any significant or interesting finds in the last year to volunteer to bring them to the meeting and show them, spending a few minutes telling the tale. While the focus is usually on self-collected material, we also encourage folks with particularly interesting things they bought or won at an auction in the last year, newly made lapidary or jewelry, or mineral-related short stories (museum visits, trips to famous localities, etc.), with 2-5 photos to accompany, to also volunteer to participate. If you are interested in presenting, especially if you want us to have photos ready to project, please let our president, Scot Krueger, know well before the meeting so he can plan the session accordingly.
The show-and-tell session will be preceded by socializing and followed by our traditional mineral specimen raffle.
