The meeting will start with some time for socializing, then discussion of club business and welcoming of new members, followed by the talk by Dana Krueger. His talk will cover the characteristics of an old favorite quarry that’s been closed to collecting for years but whose classic specimens are still circulating among collectors in New England and beyond. As a basalt quarry, Cheapside has been known for its zeolite minerals, calcite, prehnite, and the Massachusetts State Mineral, Babingtonite, among others.
After the talk, we’ll have the traditional BMC specimen raffle! Buy some tickets for a chance to win!
Hope to see you there!
