The annual BMC Specimen Competition is one of our most special nights of the year. We invite all members to celebrate their success in the last year by bringing forth specimens they have collected to show off to the rest of the club in the self-collected categories, which make up most of the competition. Members can also enter their best found or purchased specimens in the Open and Display categories, and their own creations in the Lapidary category. While the competition is happening, our annual meeting and election will take place. We’ll review the results of the club’s activities over the past year, then decide who will serve as club officers for 2024.

The meeting will be held in Haller Hall and two adjacent rooms at the Harvard Museum of Natural History at 24 Oxford Street in Cambridge. The museum’s mineral hall should be available for viewing from around 6:30, the competition will start at 7:00, and the annual meeting and election will occur once all of the entries have been placed on tables and the members have cast their votes for the best specimens.
